Who we are

67 years of pioneering spirit and excellence in Manaus

ICBEU

Pioneering spirit and quality mark the 67-year history of the Instituto Cultural Brasil Estados Unidos (ICBEU) in Manaus, founded on July 6, 1956. The ICBEU Theater is the most recent chapter in this relationship with the artistic and cultural scene in the Amazonian capital.

We offer a complete space for culture, art and entertainment. We present the city with a modern, elegant and comfortable structure, capable of hosting a variety of events that move the local scene.

The ICBEU Theater is an initiative that adds to the theaters in the center of Manaus, resisting time and the expansion of commerce, highlighting the importance of cultivating spaces that foster art.

Art and Education

The exchange between education and art has always been part of our history. At the end of the 1980s, our old auditorium began hosting the first theatrical performances and opening its doors to artists from Amazonas.

Later, as part of this process of embracing artistic life, ICBEU became the only English school with a permanent exhibition, "The Art Collection", which allows students to immerse themselves in the world of art on a daily basis. There are 96 works on display in our corridors, so that students and visitors can see the talent of artists from the region.

ICBEU is also home to the city's largest and best art gallery, "The Art Gallery". The space has a calendar of exhibitions and has already hosted works by great exponents of Amazonian culture, who, as well as exhibiting, can also sell their work.

This history has made our school an ideal place to expand knowledge, broaden our world view and foster a love of art.
